The Wave Loch FLOW Tour visited Moses Lake for the 5th stop on the summer circuit. With 35 competitors and over 500 fans in attendance, Moses Lake was the kick off to the west coast swing of the tour. Tom Los, Recreation Supervisor commented “It’s fun to have the Tour back in town where our competition was even better than last year… we have a division for everyone from youth to Expert allowing entire family’s to participate in our annual flowriding event.”
Youth and juniors were amongst the largest divisions of the event as local riders from WA and ID were pitted against traveling riders from Canada and as far as Alabama. Tracy Carroll came from Texas and extends her undefeated run so far this season earning a fifth straight victory in Masters BB and proudly announced, “This was the most gratifying win for me ever. It is awesome riding with Hancock because we have a mutual respect for each other and passion for the sport.”
The expert divisions once again stole the show, attracting the world’s best flowriders to Moses Lake, WA. All were aspiring to grab their share of the $2,500.00 in cash prize money awarded to the finalists. Nick Nguyen extended his streak to 5 for 5 this year in the Expert Bodyboard division, extending his point totals and earnings even further this season as he continues to perfect and invent new maneuvers, including Rodeo flips and DK to Stand 360 shuv-its that put him at a whole new level. Rock star status has been achieved in the Expert division, as amateur riders and spectators alike took full advantage of the stars, and platform in front of them. Many spectators had sharpies in hand as the traveling pro’s were happy to oblige all autograph requests, shirts, boards, bags, and bodies were among the signatory targets. It was all fun and games until the Expert finals began. All 4 finalists have victories in their resumes and it showed, with every rider stomping their individual routines and maneuvers. Sean Silveira proved once again he is the man to beat – riding in peak form and completely focused on defending his title again this year. In the process, he earned another unanimous judge’s decision, collecting $ 900.00 in total prize money for his victorious efforts. Brad Spencer, Nick Nyugen, and Eric Silverman rounded out the final four respectively.
As always, Wave Loch would like to extend its gratitude to the folks at Moses Lake for a great competition, and also to Versa Traction, World Class Bodyboards, Victory and the Deuce Brand of watches. Next up is Maverick’s in Sunriver Oregon on July 2nd, and then on to Wave House San Diego on July 8th. We look forward to seeing you there!!
