My Name is Hayley Balderrama and I am 29 years of age. I grew up and currently live in
Vista, California. I was born the youngest of 4. I have 3 older brothers so I have always been
super competitive and really into sports. I grew up playing baseball, football and boogie
boarding in the ocean and on the FlowRider®. I was also really into music. In middle school
I played the alto sax, then joined the high school marching band and switched to percussion.
During this whole time I was getting pretty good at the FlowRider but was still waiting for that
FlowBarrel®, “Bruticus Maximus” to come to San Diego. By the time it came around I had a
good paying job, a car and my own adult life. Today I am lucky enough to have a loving family
and continue to share my life with my boyfriend, Mateo, who shares all the same Flowboarding

I was born and raised on the central coast of California in Pismo Beach, where I grew up in
and around the ocean. I surfed and skated regularly. I moved to San Diego in 2001 right after
graduating high school to start nursing school at Point Loma Nazarene University. Shortly
after graduation and becoming a nurse, I began flowboarding. It took no time at all for me to
fall in love with the sport. I’ve worked very hard to get to where I’m at and winning the world title
