Monon Community Center Waterpark Opens to Record Crowds; FlowRider® Deemed “a Success”

Carmel, Ind., 6/06/2012 – The 2012 opening weekend for the Monon Community Center Waterpark — including the opening of the FlowRider® simulated surfing ride to the public – has been deemed a success.

A three-day record attendance of more than 14,000 – an increase of more than 50 percent over last year’s opening weekend – proved what staff and management has been predicting: The FlowRider® is a definite crowd pleaser.

A $2 million investment by Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, the FlowRider® is the first simulated surf ride in the state of Indiana and is just one of many attractions included in your general admission to the Waterpark, just $10 for adults and $6 for youngsters ages 3 to 15.

Surfer wannabes must be 48-inches tall, watch a brief safety and instruction video and sign a waiver to that effect in order to ride on the FlowRider®. You may sign the form ahead of time by visiting www.carmelclayparks.com. To see the FlowRider® in action, visit the Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation YouTube Channel. For more information on the FlowRider®, please contact Nickole Haberlin at 317.573.4032 or nhaberlin@carmelclayparks.com.
