Guests can Ride the Wave at Moon Palace, the only property in Mexico to feature a FlowRider® Double on property.
MIAMI, Fla. – (November 15, 2012) — Palace Resorts – the company that sets the standard in five-star, all-inclusive resort accommodations – opened its doors to its new FlowRider® Double, an exciting new wave simulator available to guests of Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort. This latest addition to Moon Palace is part of a multi-million dollar enhancement project, and this component is sure to thrill novices and experts alike.
To inaugurate the new FlowRider Double, Moon Palace invited Peter Mel, award-winning professional surfer and co-star of the feature film Chasing Mavericks, to be the first guest to ride the waves at the official launch of this wave simulator. Peter’s son, John Mel, who at only 13 years-old is one of the younger prodigies of the sport, was also a special guest at the interactive inauguration where hotel guests and spectators witnessed the father/son duo in surfing action.

Created by Wave Loch®, the FlowRider Double pumps thousands of gallons of water each minute to create two lanes of perfect, endless waves and provides hours of surfing excitement for visitors of all ages. Participants can drop in on their own unbroken “wave” and feel the power and acceleration, carve a turn, do maneuvers and cut back. While kids can bodyboard on the new FlowRider Double, the more advanced and adventurous guests can use the standup “flowboards.”
